Jammu (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], September 22: BJP incharge of Jammu and Kashmir and Party National General Secretary Tarun Chugh announced that the recent rallies of Home Minister Amit Shah received overwhelming public support. Chugh emphasized that this enthusiastic response shows the party’s growing momentum in the region.

“Two very successful rallies of Union Home Minister Amit Shah were held in Poonch and Rajouri region. The public has given a very good response,” Chugh said after Shah chaired a meeting at the BJP office in Jammu.

Chugh also mentioned that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Jammu and Kashmir to address the public. “Mega rallies were held everywhere, and in the coming days as well, senior BJP leaders will hold such rallies. PM Modi will also come here and address the public. PM Modi will get the blessings of the people of J-K,” he added.

Amit Shah’s Criticism of Opposition

Earlier, Amit Shah criticized the Congress-National Conference alliance and the People’s Democratic Party, stating that Jammu and Kashmir suffered from terrorism for 35 years under the leadership of the Gandhi, Mufti, and Abdullah families. Addressing a public rally in Akhnoor, Shah emphasized that terrorism cannot return to the Union Territory despite the efforts of these families.

“Jammu and Kashmir was burning in the fire of terror for 35 years under the rule of these three families: the Gandhi family, Mufti family, and the Abdullah family. Curfew was imposed in Kashmir for 3 thousand days, 40 thousand people, and many army personnel were killed… Prime Minister Modi has buried terrorism under the ground. Today I want to tell these three families that try as hard as you can, even your third generation cannot bring back terrorism,” Shah said.

Shah also criticized the National Conference’s agenda, which is supported by Rahul Gandhi’s Congress party. He questioned the public if they agreed with the NC’s statements about bringing a separate flag, restoring Article 370, and holding talks with Pakistan.

The Home Minister also targeted Rahul Gandhi, stating that the Defense Minister of Pakistan supported Gandhi’s vision. He accused the Congress of being “anti-Dalit” and not respecting Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, while the BJP honored him by establishing five places related to Ambedkar as ‘Panchteerth.’

Upcoming Elections

Amit Shah mentioned that their government will provide reservations to the Pahari, Gujjar, and Bakarwal communities in jobs and promotions. He urged the public to vote, emphasizing that their vote would protect the rights of women and ensure reservations for SC, ST, OBC, and Pahari Gujjar communities.

“This election is not just crucial for Jammu and Kashmir, but for the entire country. Since independence, there were two flags and two constitutions here, and it was for the elimination of these that Shyama Prasad Mukherjee sacrificed his life. On August 5, 2019, Modi ji abrogated Article 370, and Jammu and Kashmir became a part of India. After that, this is the first election being held here,” Shah added.

The elections in Jammu and Kashmir are being held in three phases. The first phase was held on September 18, with a voter turnout of 61.13%. The subsequent phases are scheduled for September 25 and October 1. The counting of votes will be held on October 8.
