Amit Shah to Launch BJP’s Manifesto for Maharashtra Elections

Union Home Minister Amit Shah is set to unveil the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) Sankalp Patra, or manifesto, for the upcoming Maharashtra Assembly elections on Sunday. Meanwhile, the Congress party has already released its manifesto, which includes five key promises for the state. These promises are Rs 3,000 per month to women and free bus travel for women and girls under the Mahalakshmi Yojana, a loan waiver of up to Rs 3 lakh for farmers, an incentive of Rs 50,000 for regular loan repayment, a caste-wise census, removal of the 50% reservation limit, and health insurance up to Rs 25 lakh along with free medicines and assistance up to Rs 4,000 per month for unemployed youth.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has criticized Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, questioning the sincerity of Congress’s promises. Shinde accused Congress of making similar promises in other states but failing to deliver, labeling them as untrustworthy.

As the election date approaches, political campaigning is intensifying in Maharashtra. The opposition MVA coalition, which includes Congress, Shiv Sena (UBT), and the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), is challenging the ruling Mahayuti alliance, consisting of the Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena, BJP, and Ajit Pawar-led NCP.

A significant contest is expected in Baramati, where NCP leader Ajit Pawar will face his nephew, Yugendra Pawar. Baramati was a notable constituency in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, where Supriya Sule defeated Sunetra Pawar by a margin of 1.5 lakh votes.

The Maharashtra Assembly elections are scheduled for November 20, with vote counting for all 288 constituencies on November 23. In the previous elections, the BJP and Shiv Sena secured a significant number of seats, with Congress trailing behind.
