Amit Shah to Inaugurate New High-Tech Ahmedabad Police Headquarters
Ahmedabad, Gujarat – Union Home Minister Amit Shah will inaugurate the newly built Ahmedabad Police Commissioner’s Office on Thursday. The new headquarters, located at J D Nagarwala Stadium in Shahibaug, is considered one of the most advanced in the country.

The inauguration event will take place at 5 pm and will feature Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel as the chief guest. Other dignitaries include Gujarat Home Minister Harsh Sanghvi, Director General of Police Vikas Sahay, and Ahmedabad Police Commissioner Gyanendra Singh Malik.

The new office includes a state-of-the-art Police Control Room with an advanced communication network for real-time monitoring and quick responses. It also features a facial recognition system, video analytics, a data center, emergency call box, public address system, and the One City App.

The building is equipped with a video wall, Wi-Fi, three conference rooms, a multipurpose hall, and a rooftop solar system. A gymnasium is available for police officers’ health, and the entire building has CCTV cameras, fire safety measures, and centralized air conditioning. A ‘Jan Seva Kendra’ on the ground floor addresses public issues, and basement parking resolves previous parking problems.
Community Initiatives
The canteen will be operated by women from the Sakhi Mandal (Self Help Groups) to provide employment opportunities. A Martyrs’ Memorial and Police Museum have been set up to honor police officers who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty.
