Union Home Minister Amit Shah expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for enhancing connectivity after the Union Cabinet approved a significant project in Uttar Pradesh. The Varanasi-Pt. Deendayal Upadhyaya Multi-Tracking Project, valued at Rs 2642 crore, includes a new Rail-cum-Road Bridge over the Ganga River.

Project Details

The project aims to expand the railway network by 30 km, easing congestion and improving operations on one of Indian Railways’ busiest routes. This route is crucial for transporting goods and serving tourism and industrial needs.

Benefits and Vision

Aligned with PM Modi’s Vision of a New India, the project will boost employment opportunities and support the PM-Gati Shakti National Master Plan for multi-modal connectivity. It will also contribute to environmental goals by reducing CO2 emissions.
