Amit Shah Praises Security Agencies for Major Drug Busts in Gujarat and Delhi

Union Home Minister Amit Shah congratulated security agencies for their successful operations against drug trafficking. In Gujarat, a joint operation by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), Indian Navy, and Gujarat Police led to the seizure of 700 kg of methamphetamine from an unregistered vessel. Eight foreign nationals claiming to be Iranians were apprehended. This operation, codenamed “SAGAR-MANTHAN-4,” was based on intelligence about the vessel entering Indian waters with narcotics.

In another significant operation, the NCB seized 82.53 kg of high-grade cocaine in New Delhi. This consignment, worth approximately Rs 900 crore, was tracked down through a detailed investigation following earlier seizures. The cocaine was found in the Janakpuri and Nangloi areas of Delhi, with links to international syndicates planning to send drugs to Australia. Two main operatives from Delhi and Sonipat have been arrested.

Amit Shah emphasized the Modi government’s commitment to a drug-free Bharat and praised the seamless coordination among agencies. He assured that the fight against drug rackets will continue relentlessly.
