Amit Shah Meets Chief Ministers to Discuss Anti-Naxal Success in Chhattisgarh
On Monday, Union Home Minister Amit Shah held a meeting in New Delhi with Chief Ministers and senior political leaders to discuss Left Wing Extremism (LWE) in affected states. The meeting took place at Vigyan Bhavan and included leaders from Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Telangana, Odisha, Maharashtra, and Madhya Pradesh.

Among the attendees were Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Manjhi, Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, and Upendra Kushwaha, National President of the Rashtriya Lok Morcha.
Focus on Chhattisgarh
The meeting highlighted the successful anti-Naxal operation in Chhattisgarh, where 31 Naxals were neutralized. Amit Shah praised the Chhattisgarh government for its achievements since January, noting that 194 Naxalites were killed, 801 arrested, and 742 surrendered.
Security and Infrastructure Improvements
Shah attributed these successes to the Security Related Expenditure (SRE) scheme, which saw increased funding. He also mentioned infrastructure improvements, including 544 fortified police stations and an expanded road network from 2,900 km to 11,500 km.
Reduction in Violence
Shah noted a significant reduction in violence, with incidents dropping from 16,463 to 7,700. He emphasized that the success in Chhattisgarh should inspire other regions, as improved security allowed villagers to participate in elections after thirty years.
