Union Minister Amit Shah is visiting Jammu and Kashmir to launch the Bharatiya Janata Party’s manifesto for the upcoming assembly elections. The elections will be held in three phases on September 18, 25, and October 1.

Shah praised the Modi government for transforming the region from a terrorist hotspot to a tourist hotspot. He shared on social media that Jammu and Kashmir is witnessing a new era of peace and development, with increased educational and economic activities.

During his visit, Shah will also interact with party workers at the ‘Karyakarta Sammelan.’ BJP’s Jammu and Kashmir chief Ravinder Raina has filed his nomination for the Nowshera constituency. The region has 90 assembly constituencies, with 7 seats reserved for Scheduled Castes and 9 for Scheduled Tribes.

In the previous elections, the People’s Democratic Party won 28 seats, BJP secured 25, the Jammu and Kashmir National Conference won 15, and Congress won 12. This time, Congress has allied with the National Conference to contest the polls. The results will be announced on October 8.
