Amit Shah Inaugurates New Bank Building and Praises ‘Sahkar se Samriddhi’ in Gujarat
Union Home Minister Amit Shah lauded the efforts made under the ‘Sahkar se Samriddhi’ initiative while inaugurating the 76th Annual General Meeting of Kheda District Central Cooperative (KDCC) Bank Limited in Nadiad, Gujarat through video conferencing. He inaugurated the new building of the bank, Sardar Patel Sahkar Bhavan, constructed at a cost of Rs 18.70 crore.
The ‘Sahkar se Samriddhi’ scheme aims to maximize the potential of cooperatives to propel economic progress in India. Shah praised Amul for setting an example of achieving prosperity through cooperation. He urged people associated with cooperative institutions to open their bank accounts in District Cooperative Banks to build a strong economic structure in the cooperative sector.
Shah also discussed the ‘Cooperation Amongst Cooperatives’ pilot projects in Banaskantha and Panchmahal districts. He stated that the success of this initiative would make India’s cooperative sector self-sufficient, eliminating the need for financial support from the Central or State Government. He emphasized the importance of District Cooperative Banks in strengthening Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS) and mentioned that the Government of India has started 20 different initiatives to strengthen PACS.
