Union Home Minister Amit Shah inaugurated the two-day National Security Strategies (NSS) Conference 2024 in New Delhi. The conference aims to address emerging national security challenges with the participation of over 750 officers from across the country.

Participants and Format

The conference is being held in a hybrid format, combining physical and virtual modes. Attendees include top police leadership from states, Union Territories, Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), and Central Police Organisations (CPOs). Union Ministers of State for Home Nityanand Rai and Bandi Sanjay Kumar, Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan, and other senior officials attended the conference in Delhi.

Key Activities

Before the inauguration, Amit Shah laid a wreath at the martyrs column to honor police personnel who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty. He also launched the DGPs/IGPs Conference Recommendations’ dashboard, developed by the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB), to implement decisions from the annual police conference chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The idea for the NSS Conference was conceived by PM Modi during the DGP/IGPs Conference. The objective is to find solutions to major national security challenges through discussions among senior police leadership, young police officers, and domain experts. PM Modi directed that the conference be held in a hybrid mode for wider participation.
