Amit Shah Declares BJP Will Stand Alone in Haryana Elections
Union Home Minister Amit Shah announced on Saturday that the BJP will not form alliances with any party in the upcoming Haryana Assembly polls. Speaking to BJP workers and supporters in Panchkula, Haryana, Shah emphasized that the BJP aims to form a government with an absolute majority.
Shah stated, “Remove this doubt from your mind that we will go with anyone or take anyone’s support, rather, we will form the BJP government with an absolute majority.”
In a post on X, Shah highlighted the progress Haryana has made under BJP rule over the past decade, particularly in the welfare and development of farmers and other communities. He added, “Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji, the workers of Haryana BJP are determined to go door-to-door and conduct an extensive public relations campaign to ensure that this time the BJP wins the state with a two-thirds majority.”
Earlier, Union Minister of Education Dharmendra Pradhan expressed confidence in BJP’s victory in the upcoming elections, stating that the opposition lacks a political agenda.
Meanwhile, Congress MP Kumari Selja claimed that Congress will form the government in Haryana, citing the public’s experience with BJP’s governance over the last 10 years. Selja said, “We have started preparations for both Lok Sabha and assembly elections during Lok Sabha elections only. I believe that we will form the government in the state as the people have seen the BJP’s work in the last 10 years.”
In the 2019 Assembly elections, BJP won 40 out of 90 seats, Congress secured 31 seats, and Jannayak Janta Party (JJP) won 10 seats. The BJP formed the government after allying with the JJP. In 2014, BJP had won 47 seats while Congress secured 15 seats.
