Amit Shah Criticizes Maha Vikas Aghadi Ahead of Maharashtra Elections

As the Maharashtra assembly elections approach, Union Home Minister and BJP leader Amit Shah addressed a public rally in Dhule, Maharashtra. He criticized the opposition alliance, Maha Vikas Aghadi, calling it ‘Vinash’ (destruction) and contrasted it with the BJP-led Mahayuti alliance, which he termed as ‘Vikas’ (development).

Shah accused the Congress of not providing sufficient funds to Maharashtra during their rule from 2004 to 2014, stating that they allocated 1 lakh 51 thousand crores, whereas under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership from 2014 to 2024, 10 lakh 15 thousand eight hundred ninety crores were given.

He highlighted India’s economic progress under the NDA government, noting that India has moved from the eleventh to the fifth position in the world’s largest economy rankings and is projected to become the third largest by 2027.

Shah also accused Maha Vikas Aghadi leaders of making false promises, while asserting that promises made by Modi are ‘pathar ki lakeer’ (etched in stone). He mentioned the construction of the Ram Temple and criticized Congress leaders for not attending its consecration ceremony.

The Maharashtra assembly elections will be held on November 20, with results announced on November 23. The contest is between the BJP-led Mahayuti alliance and the Maha Vikas Aghadi.
