Amit Shah Criticizes Congress and National Conference in Jammu and Kashmir Rally
Union Home Minister Amit Shah spoke at an election rally in Surankot, Poonch district, Jammu and Kashmir, where he criticized the Congress and National Conference for their past governance. He claimed that during their 35-year rule, terrorism increased, resulting in the deaths of 40,000 people and prolonged closures in the region.
Shah accused National Conference President Farooq Abdullah of spreading fear about terrorism in the Jammu region. He assured the crowd that the current government would end terrorism.
Shah also targeted Rahul Gandhi, Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha, for his comments about Sikhs and his stance on Pakistan. Shah emphasized that there would be no talks with Pakistan until it stops terrorism.
Reiterating BJP’s promises, Shah mentioned financial support for senior women, free gas cylinders for Ujjwala beneficiaries, and increased financial aid under PM-Kisan.
Earlier, in Mendhar, Shah praised the bravery of local soldiers and communities in defending India. He criticized the manifestos of Congress, National Conference, and PDP, which promise to restore Article 370 and statehood in Jammu and Kashmir.
Shah highlighted the increased political participation of local youth and the improved security situation under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership. He noted that the BJP government has replaced stones with laptops for the youth.
The upcoming elections in Jammu and Kashmir, the first since the abrogation of Article 370, will see various parties, including Congress, National Conference, PDP, BJP, and People’s Conference, contesting for 90 Assembly seats. Voting will take place on September 25 and October 1, with results announced on October 8.
