Union Home Minister Amit Shah spoke in Mendhar, Jammu and Kashmir, accusing the National Conference, Congress, and PDP of spreading fear and terror in the region. He praised the bravery of local soldiers and communities like the Pahadi, Gurjar, and Bakarwal for defending India since 1947.

Shah criticized the election promises of these parties to restore Article 370 and statehood, claiming that the BJP government has ended terrorism in the region. He highlighted the increased political participation of local youth, with around 30,000 Kashmiri youths contesting elections.

Shah also emphasized the improved security situation, stating that Pakistan is now afraid of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He assured that any firing from Pakistan would be met with a strong response.

Opposition leader Rahul Gandhi criticized the withdrawal of statehood, calling it a violation of constitutional rights. He urged voters to support the INDIA alliance to restore their rights and bring prosperity to Jammu and Kashmir.

The upcoming elections are the first since the abrogation of Article 370, with multiple parties, including the BJP, PDP, and Congress, contesting for 90 Assembly seats. Voting will take place on September 25 and October 1, with results announced on October 8.
