Amit Shah Criticizes Congress Over Pakistan’s Comments on Article 370

Union Home Minister Amit Shah has strongly criticized Congress following remarks by Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khwaja Asif. Asif claimed that Congress and the National Conference (NC) support the restoration of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir.

In a post on social media platform X, Shah stated, “Pakistan’s Defence Minister’s statement about Congress and JKNC’s support on Article 370 and 35A has once again exposed Congress. This statement has once again made it clear that Congress and Pakistan have the same intentions and agenda. For the last few years, Rahul Gandhi has been standing with every anti-India force, hurting the sentiments of the countrymen.”

Shah accused Congress of demanding proof of air strikes and surgical strikes, and supporting anti-India forces, which he said has hurt the sentiments of Indians. He emphasized that as long as the Modi government is in power, neither Article 370 nor terrorism will return to Kashmir.

Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah responded to Asif’s comments, stating, “What does Pakistan have to do with us? We are not even a part of Pakistan, let them take care of their country. I don’t think they should interfere in our elections or comment on our elections. They should save their democracy, we are participating in ours.”

Asif had earlier told Geo News that the NC-Congress alliance could potentially restore Article 370 if they come to power in Jammu and Kashmir, as the issue has significant support in the region.
