Amit Shah Criticizes Congress-National Conference Alliance and Promises Development in Jammu and Kashmir

Home Minister Amit Shah accused the Congress-National Conference alliance of supporting terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir during their rule. Speaking at a rally, he emphasized that Article 370 is now history and highlighted the Modi government’s efforts to develop the region, including granting reservations to Pahadis without affecting Gurjar reservations.

Shah questioned the alliance’s past actions, mentioning that Farooq Abdullah, a former Chief Minister, went on vacation during a period of intense terrorism. He criticized the Nehru, Gandhi, and Abdullah families for spreading terrorism and delaying reservations for Kashmiri Pandits.

Shah praised the Modi government for establishing Panchayati Raj in the state and providing tribal reservations to both Gurjars and Pahadis. He assured that efforts to reinstate Article 370 would not succeed, stating that there can only be one flag in Kashmir—the Tricolour.

Shah lauded the locals of Kishtwar for their patriotism and sacrifices during crises, particularly during the terrorism of the 1990s. He also spoke about the government’s commitment to combating terrorism and strengthening the local economy through hydroelectric projects and infrastructure initiatives.

The Congress and National Conference have formed an alliance for the upcoming assembly polls, which will be held in three phases on September 18, September 25, and November 1, with votes counted on October 8.
