Union Home Minister Amit Shah criticized Congress leader Bhupinder Singh Hooda’s ‘Hisaab Maange Haryana’ campaign, demanding Hooda account for alleged corruption during his tenure. Shah highlighted the BJP’s developmental works and funding for Haryana, contrasting it with Congress’ record.

Shah’s Statements

Addressing a rally at Haryana Central University, Shah said, ‘Hooda Sahab, I have come here with the accounts, what will you ask for? I challenge you to go in public with a portfolio of our works of 10 years and Congress’ work of 10 years. Baniya ka Beta Hu, Payi-Payi ka Hisab Leke Chalta Hu.’

He emphasized that BJP workers will visit 6,250 village panchayats to present their developmental works, stating, ‘They (Congress) were in government in both, central and state for 10 years, but they only sanctioned Rs 41,000 crores for Haryana. When PM Modi and Manohar Lal Khattar came into power, we sanctioned Rs 2.69 lakh crores for Haryana.’

Hooda’s Campaign

Earlier, Bhupinder Singh Hooda outlined the objectives of the ‘Haryana Maange Hisaab’ campaign, aiming to reach out to people, hear their complaints, and include them in the manifesto for the upcoming state assembly elections. The campaign seeks to expose the BJP government’s failures across all 90 assembly constituencies.

Upcoming Elections

The Haryana Assembly Elections are scheduled to be held later this year on 90 Assembly seats, with the current tenure ending on November 3, 2024.
