Amit Shah and Wife Perform ‘Mangla Aarti’ at Jagannath Temple Before Rath Yatra 2024

Union Home Minister Amit Shah and his wife Sonal Shah performed ‘Mangla Aarti’ at Jagannath Temple in Ahmedabad on Sunday morning, ahead of the 147th Rath Yatra of Lord Jagannath.

The Rath Yatra, which will take place on July 7, 2024, is a major event drawing lakhs of devotees. To ensure safety, more than 15,000 police personnel have been deployed, along with CCTV and drone surveillance, according to JCP Ahmedabad Police, Neeraj Badgujar.

Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel also offered prayers at the Jagannath Puri Temple in Odisha on the eve of the Rath Yatra. The three chariots of Lord Jagannath, Balabhadra, and Subhadra were brought to Singha Dwara of Puri Srimandir ahead of the festival.

The Rath Yatra, also known as the Chariot Festival, is celebrated globally from New Zealand to London and South Africa. It involves the journey of the Holy Trinity to their maternal aunt, Goddess Gundicha Devi’s Temple, and their return after eight days.

This grand festival is one of the most revered and historic religious events in India, promising to draw lakhs of worshippers eager to participate.
