In Gandhinagar, Gujarat, Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah, along with Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, unveiled development projects worth Rs 1003 crore for Ahmedabad. The event saw the e-launch and foundation stone laying of 45 projects by the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation.

Key Projects and Initiatives

The projects span various sectors including sanitation, health, sports, and environmental conservation. Notably, 21 projects worth Rs 730 crore were inaugurated in Ahmedabad, while 4 new projects were initiated in the Gandhinagar Lok Sabha area. Additionally, 18 projects were inaugurated and foundation stones for 2 projects were laid in the East and West Lok Sabha areas.

Environmental Initiatives

As part of the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign initiated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation aims to plant 30 lakh trees in 100 days under the ‘Mission 3 Million Trees’ initiative. Amit Shah urged residents to actively participate in tree planting to combat climate change and enhance the city’s greenery.

Quality of Life Improvements

The new developments include gyms, swimming pools, and oxygen parks, aimed at improving the quality of life for residents. Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel highlighted that these projects reflect the commitment to good governance and the vision of a ‘Viksit Bharat’ by 2047.

Additional Developments

Other projects include pink toilets, overbridges, door-to-door waste collection vans, and various infrastructure improvements. The event was attended by several dignitaries, including Ahmedabad MP Hasmukh Patel and other local officials.
