New Delhi, India, September 5: BJP national spokesperson Amit Malviya has brought forward a letter dated August 10, allegedly signed by Dr. Sandip Ghosh, the former principal of RG Kar Hospital. The letter suggests that the hospital tried to cover up the crime scene of a trainee doctor’s rape and murder.

Malviya claims the letter proves that the West Bengal government and the hospital lied about when renovations began near the crime scene. He has demanded the resignation of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and called for a fair investigation.

In a post on X, Malviya stated, “This is explosive. Yet another piece of evidence, which establishes that Dr. Sandip Ghosh, now arrested, disgraced former Principal of RG Kar Medical College and Hospital, ordered repair/renovation of the toilet near the Seminar Room (scene of crime) on 10th Aug, a day after the young lady doctor was brutally raped and murdered (she was killed on the intervening night of August 8th/9th).”

He added, “It means the claim of renovation starting prior to the date of the crime was an OUTRIGHT LIE. The WB Govt and the hospital LIED. Kolkata Police even filed complaints against those who shared the video of the broken wall.”

Malviya further accused Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, the hospital administration, and the Kolkata Police of colluding to destroy evidence and sanitize the crime scene. “This is evil and raises further questions on their motives,” he said.

He reiterated his demand for the Chief Minister’s resignation and alleged that much of the evidence had already been destroyed. “I repeat: Unless Mamata Banerjee and Vineet Goyal, Commissioner of Kolkata Police step down, a free and fair probe is not possible. Much of the evidence has already been destroyed. Call records of the CM and Kolkata CP, for 72 hours after the crime, should be put in the public domain. Their conversations investigated,” Malviya said.

He also suggested that Mamata Banerjee and Vineet Goyal should undergo a polygraph test to uncover the truth. “The movement for justice will continue,” Malviya stated.

The alleged letter dated August 10 ordered the Executive Engineer to urgently repair/renovate/reconstruct the on-duty Doctors’ Room and attached toilets in all departments of RG Kar Hospital, Kolkata. The letter mentioned a “deficiency” of on-duty Doctors’ Rooms and separate attached toilets in various departments.

The body of the trainee doctor was found in the seminar room of the hospital on August 9, sparking nationwide protests. A civic volunteer was arrested shortly after, and the CBI also arrested Dr. Sandip Ghosh for alleged financial misconduct at the medical establishment.
