Amardeep Singh Bhatia Becomes New Secretary of DPIIT in India
Amardeep Singh Bhatia has taken over as the Secretary of the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) in India’s Ministry of Commerce and Industry. He replaces Rajesh Kumar Singh, who is now Officer on Special Duty in the Department of Defence.
Before this, Bhatia served as Additional Secretary in the Department of Commerce, Ministry of Commerce and Industry. He is an Indian Administrative Service Officer from the 1993 Nagaland cadre.
In the central government, Bhatia has held many important positions in the Ministries of Corporate Affairs and Health and Family Welfare. In the state government, he has managed departments such as Planning and Coordination, Health and Family Welfare, Environment and Forest, Municipalities and Local Self Government, and Home.
