Aligarh Police Arrest Cyber Fraud Gang

The Aligarh Police have arrested three members of an interstate gang involved in cyber fraud. The police recovered 19 lakh rupees in cash, 10 chequebooks, 10 ATM cards, passbooks, a Baleno car, five mobile phones, and various identity cards, including driving licences and Aadhar cards.

Joint Effort by Police Teams

The arrests were made through the combined efforts of the District Surveillance Unit, District SWAT Team, Police Station Civil Lines, and Police Station Banna Devi. The gang had committed cyber fraud in multiple states, including Orissa, Maharashtra, Telangana, Delhi, and Uttar Pradesh.

Details of the Arrest

Assistant Superintendent of Police Amrit Kumar Jain stated, “A joint team has caught an interstate gang involved in advanced cyber crime. They used the bank account details of many poor people to withdraw money and send it out through different means.”

The arrested individuals are Manish from Nashik, Kashish from Delhi, and Arshad from Quarsi. Arshad provided the gang with bank accounts. The gang’s fraud amounted to Rs 5 to 6 crore.

Rs 5 to 6 crore -: Rs 5 to 6 crore is a very large amount of money in India. One crore is equal to 10 million, so 5 to 6 crore is 50 to 60 million rupees.
