In Lucknow, the Jai Prakash Narayan International Centre (JPNIC) has been sealed and barricaded with police presence ahead of Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav’s planned visit. Yadav intended to honor freedom fighter Jayaprakash Narayan on his birth anniversary. However, the Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) denied permission, citing security concerns and the site’s condition.

Akhilesh Yadav criticized the Uttar Pradesh government for blocking access with tin sheets, questioning their motives. He accused the government of hiding something and preventing the honoring of a great leader. The LDA stated that JPNIC is a construction site with scattered materials and potential insect infestations, making it unsafe for Yadav, who has Z-plus security, to visit.
