As the bypolls for nine assembly constituencies in Uttar Pradesh approach, Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav expressed confidence in his party’s candidate, Tej Pratap Yadav, winning the Karhal assembly seat. He stated that the upcoming election would result in a historic victory for the Samajwadi Party, with the BJP facing a significant defeat.

The bypolls are scheduled for November 13, covering nine assembly seats, including Karhal, Meerapur, Kundarki, Ghaziabad, Khair, Phulpur, and Katehari. The election commission has announced bypolls for these seats, excluding Milkipur in Ayodhya district.

In a social media post, Akhilesh Yadav highlighted that the INDIA bloc candidates would contest the bypolls under the Samajwadi Party’s symbol, the ‘cycle.’ He mentioned the unity between Congress and the Samajwadi Party, aiming for a significant victory in the by-elections.

Congress in-charge Avinash Pandey announced that the Congress party would not field candidates in the nine assembly seats, instead supporting the Samajwadi Party. He emphasized the importance of this decision for Uttar Pradesh, a key political region in India.
