Akhilesh Yadav Criticizes Yogi Adityanath’s Government and ‘One Nation, One Election’ Proposal

Kannauj (Uttar Pradesh) [India], September 21: Akhilesh Yadav, the president of the Samajwadi Party, launched a strong attack on the Yogi Adityanath-led government. He accused them of ignoring his repeated demands to improve the condition of Kannauj Medical College. During his visit to Kannauj, Yadav said, ‘This is not the first time I am discussing Kannauj Medical College. The government and BJP are deaf and blind to the needs of common people who go there for treatment. They have slowed the development of Kannauj due to their enmity with this place.’

Kannauj is known as a stronghold of the Samajwadi Party, and Yadav currently represents the area in the Lok Sabha. Responding to the Union Cabinet’s approval of the ‘One Nation, One Election’ proposal, Yadav accused the BJP of trying to outsource the Election Commission. He said, ‘One day BJP will say that elections should be conducted every five years, so what’s the need for an Election Commission? They will outsource it. The ‘One Nation, One Election’ is a major conspiracy to destroy democracy and the Election Commission.’

Earlier, Yadav had criticized the central government on this issue, stating, ‘If One Nation, One Election is implemented, they will argue that there is no need for the Election Commission and that a lot of money is spent on EC officers. Officers and workers will be brought through lateral entry and outsourced. If they really want to save expenses, why does BJP conduct so many rallies?’
