Akhilesh Yadav Criticizes UP Government Over JPNIC Access Block

In Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav criticized the state government for blocking access to the Jai Prakash Narayan International Centre (JPNIC). The Lucknow Development Authority denied him permission to visit the site on the freedom fighter’s birth anniversary. Yadav accused the BJP of learning to block paths from colonial powers and secretly supporting them.

Yadav expressed his frustration on social media, stating that the BJP’s actions symbolize negativity and prevent Samajwadi Party members from honoring Jai Prakash Narayan. He accused the BJP of being against freedom fighters and the freedom movement.

SP leader Udaiveer Singh alleged that the government plans to sell JPNIC to a private party, highlighting the government’s anti-democratic mindset. UP Congress chief Ajay Rai also criticized the government, comparing their actions to those of a dictator.

Meanwhile, BJP spokesperson Pradeep Bhandari accused Yadav of politicizing the issue, stating that the construction site is incomplete and unsafe. He suggested that Yadav could have paid tribute elsewhere and accused him of forgetting Jai Prakash Narayan’s ideals.

The LDA cited safety concerns due to ongoing construction and Yadav’s Z-plus security as reasons for denying access to JPNIC.
