Akhilesh Yadav Criticizes BJP’s Budget and Support for Allies

New Delhi [India], July 24: Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav criticized the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for favoring their allies over farmers in the Union Budget presented on Tuesday. Yadav, speaking at a protest in the Parliament complex, emphasized the need for a Minimum Support Price (MSP) for farmers to double their income.

Yadav also questioned the government’s proposal to offer internships to youth, expressing concerns about their future job security. He criticized the government’s inadequate steps to curb inflation, stating that any benefits given to the middle class are negated by rising prices.

Yadav further claimed that Uttar Pradesh did not receive substantial budget allocations, suggesting that the people of Lucknow have angered those in Delhi. He also highlighted the impracticality of controlling floods in Bihar without addressing floods in neighboring regions like Uttar Pradesh and Nepal.

Samajwadi Party MP Jaya Bachchan dismissed the budget as mere ‘drama,’ stating that promises made on paper will not be implemented. MP Ram Gopal Yadav noted that Uttar Pradesh was not even mentioned in the budget document.

The opposition INDIA bloc, including leaders like Rahul Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi, and Mallikarjun Kharge, held a protest in the Parliament complex, raising slogans against the budget and calling it discriminatory.
