Akhilesh Yadav Criticizes BJP Over Bahraich Violence Ahead of UP By-Elections

In Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) as the state prepares for upcoming assembly by-elections. He linked the recent violence in Bahraich, where a clash during a Durga idol immersion led to one death, to the political climate. Yadav suggested that the worsening communal atmosphere is a deliberate strategy by the BJP to incite fear and gain political advantage.

Yadav expressed his views on social media, stating, “The coming of elections and the worsening of the communal atmosphere is not a coincidence. The public understands everything.” He urged the government to implement real law and order measures rather than superficial ones.

Earlier, Yadav criticized the Uttar Pradesh government for its handling of the Bahraich incident, emphasizing the need for proper security and police deployment during such events. He accused the BJP of spreading hatred and dividing society for political gain.

The by-elections in Uttar Pradesh are set to fill ten vacant assembly seats, with the Election Commission yet to announce the dates. These elections are significant for both the BJP and opposition parties, including the Samajwadi Party, which plans to contest alongside the Congress.
