Akasa Air and Goa Airports on High Alert Due to Security Threats

On October 24, 2024, Akasa Air received security threats for some of its flights, prompting the airline to activate emergency protocols. The airline’s response teams are working closely with local authorities to ensure safety and security. A spokesperson for Akasa Air confirmed that the teams are prepared to assist passengers.

In addition, Goa International Airport and Manohar International Airport in Goa were put on high alert after bomb threats were received for four aircraft bound for these airports. The Bomb Threat Assessment Committee has been set up to evaluate the threats.

Earlier in the week, over 50 flights operated by Indian airlines, including IndiGo, Vistara, and Akasa Air, received bomb threats. IndiGo reported receiving 11 additional threats by Tuesday evening. The Civil Aviation Minister, Ram Mohan Naidu, announced increased airport checks and efforts to identify those responsible for the threats, who will be placed on a no-fly list.

The Bureau of Civil Aviation Security is in ongoing communication with the Ministry of Home Affairs regarding the situation.
