Ajman Ruler Establishes Higher Committee of Energy
On October 14, Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, the Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ajman, issued Emiri Decree No. (8) of 2024. This decree establishes the Ajman Higher Committee of Energy, which will oversee petroleum product trading in the Emirate and its free zones.
Committee’s Role and Responsibilities
The newly formed committee will have legal authority to perform its duties and will be supervised by the Chairman of the Ajman Executive Council. The Chairman will appoint committee members based on their expertise and experience, with each member serving a three-year term.
The committee’s responsibilities include regulating petroleum product trading according to international standards, improving energy sector services, aligning with global energy trends, enhancing safety and security, and ensuring compliance with federal and local regulations.

The decree overrides any conflicting laws and will be effective from its issuance date, with publication in the Official Gazette.
