Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar is visiting 59 villages in Baramati, starting from Malad village, to discuss important local issues ahead of the upcoming elections. During his tour, he addressed the Dhangar reservation issue and assured residents that the popular “ladki bahini” scheme would continue, emphasizing that no one’s reservation would be taken away.

When asked about Nawab Malik’s candidacy amid controversy, Pawar mentioned that a clear picture of candidates and their parties would emerge by November 4th. He reiterated the government’s commitment to supporting the Dhangar community, which currently has a 3.5 percent reservation under the Nomadic Tribes category.

Pawar also highlighted various schemes for the benefit of Muslim and Dhangar communities, such as the Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Swayam Yojana and the PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi, which provide financial assistance to farmers. The Maharashtra Legislative Assembly elections are set for November 20, with results on November 23. Baramati is witnessing a contest between Pawar family members, with Ajit Pawar’s nephew, Yugendra Pawar, running from the NCP, Sharad Pawar faction.
