New Delhi, India, August 15: Ajit Pawar, the NCP chief and Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister, has stated that there is no competition between him and his uncle, Sharad Pawar, for the upcoming Maharashtra assembly polls. Both are running their own campaigns, and Ajit Pawar is confident that the ruling Mahayuti alliance will return to power.

In an interview, Ajit Pawar mentioned that the INDIA bloc parties set a narrative during the Lok Sabha polls, which affected the results in Maharashtra, with the ruling alliance winning only 17 out of 48 seats. He emphasized that the ruling alliance partners are reaching out to people and trying to win back those who drifted away during the Lok Sabha polls.

Ajit Pawar is currently on a ‘Jan Sanman Yatra’ as part of the preparations for the assembly polls. He joined the BJP-Shiv Sena government in Maharashtra led by Eknath Shinde in July last year, causing a split in the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP).

He highlighted that they are informing people about the government’s schemes and budget announcements. Ajit Pawar also addressed the false narratives created by the opposition during the Lok Sabha polls, which impacted their performance in Maharashtra. He assured that the Constitution would remain unchanged.

Ajit Pawar, along with Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, is working to counter the opposition’s narrative. The INDIA bloc parties won 30 out of 48 Lok Sabha seats in Maharashtra, while Ajit Pawar’s NCP won one of the four seats it contested.

Ajit Pawar expressed confidence in Mahayuti winning the assembly polls and mentioned that the Chief Minister would be decided after discussions with all alliance leaders. He also emphasized his focus on the development of Maharashtra and bringing more funds from the Centre.
