Maharashtra Assembly Elections: Candidate Announcements

The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), led by Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, has announced its first list of 38 candidates for the upcoming Maharashtra Assembly elections. Ajit Pawar will contest from the Baramati constituency. Other notable candidates include Chhagan Bhujbal from Yeola and Dilip Walse Patil from Ambegaon. Former Congress members Hiraman Khoskar and Shulbha Khodke, who recently joined the NCP, will contest from Igatpuri and Amravati, respectively.

Meanwhile, the Shiv Sena faction led by Eknath Shinde has also released its first list of 45 candidates. Eknath Shinde will contest from the Kopri-Pachpakhadi constituency. Other candidates include Manisha Ravindra Waykar from Jogeshwari (East) and Suhas Dwarkanath Kande from Nandgao. Eknath Shinde expressed confidence in the Mahayuti alliance’s victory in the elections.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), another key player in the Mahayuti alliance, has released its list of 99 candidates. Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis will contest from Nagpur South West, and state BJP president Chandrashekhar Krishnarao Bawankule will contest from Kamthi.

As the election date approaches, both the ruling Mahayuti alliance and the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) are gearing up for the polls.
