Dehradun (Uttarakhand) [India], July 17: Ajendra Ajay, Chairman of the Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee, responded to allegations made by Swami Avimukteshwaranand, the Shankaracharya of Jyotirmath, about 228 kilograms of gold being stolen from the Kedarnath Temple.

Ajendra Ajay described Swami Avimukteshwaranand’s statements as very unfortunate and urged him to present the facts. He challenged the Shankaracharya to approach the competent authority or file a petition in the Supreme Court or High Court if he has evidence.

Ajay emphasized that Swami Avimukteshwaranand does not have the right to harm the dignity of Kedarnath Dham and suggested that his actions might be politically motivated.

On July 15, Swami Avimukteshwaranand alleged that 228 kg of gold was missing from Kedarnath and criticized the lack of a proper investigation. He claimed that the amount of missing gold had been inconsistently reported and demanded a thorough inquiry.
