Ajendra Ajay Denies Congress Claims About Gold in Kedarnath Temple

Ajendra Ajay, President of Shri Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee, has denied the Congress’s claims that 230 kg of gold was used in the Kedarnath Temple. He clarified that only 23 kg of gold and 1000 kg of copper were used in the temple’s sanctum sanctorum. Ajay announced that the tax invoice from the jeweller would be released to prove this.

Ajay accused Congress of spreading false information as part of a conspiracy related to the upcoming by-elections in Kedarnath. He stated, “As the Assembly by-elections are to be held in Kedarnath, the Congress people are spreading such propaganda without any facts and evidence. Such unfortunate and condemnable allegations are being made by the Congress and its supporters only to create a sensation.”

Earlier, on July 15, Swami Avimukteshwaranand had alleged that 228 kg of gold was missing from Kedarnath. He claimed that demands for an investigation had been raised with the Commissioner, but the case was not properly investigated. Swami Avimukteshwaranand said, “Earlier, it was said that 320 kg of gold had been missing, then it decreased to 228, then it became 36, 32, and 27 simultaneously. Whether the number is 320, 228, 36, 32, or 27, the problem is, where did it go? How can gold turn into brass?”
