Air Marshal Ashutosh Dixit Visits DRDO, HAL, and TASL in Hyderabad

Deputy Chief of Air Staff Air Marshal Ashutosh Dixit visited the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), and TATA Advanced Systems Limited (TASL) in Hyderabad from July 23-24.

Key Interactions

During his visit, Air Marshal Dixit met with APVS Prasad, Chief Executive of the Centre for Military Airworthiness and Certification (CEMILAC), U Raja Babu, Director General of Missiles and Strategic Systems (MSS), and teams from Airbus and TASL. He praised their efforts towards self-reliance.

Visit Highlights

The Deputy Air Chief granted production clearance for ASTRA missiles at the Defence Research and Development Laboratory (DRDL), reviewed avionics indigenization at HAL, and inspected the C-295 aircraft production line at TASL.

Ballistic Missile Defence System Test

On July 24, DRDO successfully tested Phase II of the Ballistic Missile Defence System. The test involved launching a Target Missile from LC-IV Dhamra, which was detected by radars and intercepted by the AD Endo-atmospheric missile launched from LC-III at the Integrated Test Range (ITR), Chandipur, Odisha.
