Dr. Gopal Krushna Pal, the Director of AIIMS Patna, confirmed that the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested four medical students from the institute in connection with the NEET-UG paper leak case. The students, identified as Karan Jain, Kumar Sanu, Rahul Anand, and Chandan Singh, are accused of solving exam papers for the main suspect, Pankaj Singh.

Dr. Pal stated, “The report that CBI has arrested them (medical students) is true. CBI has also given us information that our four students have been formally arrested. But still now, we have not got anything in writing.”

He added that the administrative committee of AIIMS Patna discussed the issue and decided that the students could be suspended, but this decision is subject to legal opinion. The suspension order is on hold until written confirmation is received from the CBI.

“Till the students are not found guilty, we cannot take any decision that they will be suspended as it is a matter of their career. If they are found guilty, we will take action,” Dr. Pal emphasized.

According to CBI sources, the four accused students were helping Pankaj Singh, who managed to steal the question paper from Hazaribagh. Pankaj Singh, a civil engineer, and Raju Singh were also arrested in connection with the case.
