AIIMS Delhi Doctors Share Hair Transplant Tips and Celebrate World Plastic Surgery Day

Doctors at AIIMS Delhi have shared important advice on hair transplants, warning people to avoid misleading claims that can lead to complications. Dr. Maneesh Singhal, Professor and Head of the Department of Plastic, Reconstructive and Burns Surgery, explained that the procedure takes a whole year to show results and advised against shortcuts.

Dr. KK Verma, Dean (Academics) at AIIMS and Head of the Department of Dermatology and Venereology, emphasized that hair transplants should be the last resort for treating hair loss. He noted that other interventions like medicines should be tried first and that the procedure should be done by experts.

On World Plastic Surgery Day, the Department of Plastic, Reconstructive and Burns Surgery at AIIMS conducted 82 free surgeries, including reconstructive, corrective, and hair transplantation surgeries. The department also raised awareness among 400 general individuals and 160 staff members. Olympic Gold Medalist Abhinav Bindra spoke about skin donation and encouraged people to pledge their skin for those in need.
