AIFF Updates Disciplinary Code with New Fines and Rules
The All India Football Federation (AIFF) has made important changes to its Disciplinary Code. These changes were approved by the AIFF Executive Committee in a meeting held on Saturday.
New Monetary Fines
A new table of monetary fines for offences like direct expulsions and team misconduct has been introduced. This is part of the ‘AIFF Disciplinary Code 2024’.
Expanded Jurisdiction
The AIFF Disciplinary Committee now has broader powers to sanction incidents that were missed by Match Officials. According to Article 74.1.1, the Committee can sanction serious infringements that escaped the Match Officials’ attention or were not sanctioned due to technical reasons.
Changes to Article 65
Article 65 has been reformatted for better understanding. This change aims to clarify the sequence of issuing deadlines for respecting decisions, as the AIFF judicial bodies had faced issues with interpretation.
