AIFF Seeks Support from Sports Ministry for 2026 Asian Games and More

The All India Football Federation (AIFF) has requested the Sports Ministry’s support in four key areas. These include preparation camps for the 2026 Asian Games for both men’s and women’s football teams, the use of all FIFA International Match Windows, support for head coaches, and a specialised goalkeeper academy.

AIFF President Kalyan Chaubey, acting secretary general M Satyanarayan, and treasurer Kipa Ajay met with Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya to discuss these needs. Mandaviya assured that the government would try to provide the necessary support within their policy.

Satyanarayan mentioned that they had a productive hour-long meeting with the Sports Minister, who emphasized the importance of football in India. The AIFF also highlighted their ongoing projects with the Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council, which were appreciated by the Union Minister.

Mandaviya recently inaugurated the Blue Cubs Development Centre for the Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council Football Academy in Srinagar, showing the government’s commitment to football development in the region.
