AIADMK Leader Calls for Resignation Over Air Show Incident
In Chennai, Tamil Nadu, AIADMK leader Kovai Sathyan has demanded the resignation of Health Minister Ma Subramanian following the Chennai Air Show incident. Sathyan criticized the DMK government for what he termed as “complete mismanagement.” Former Chief Minister and AIADMK General Secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami claimed that five people died from heatstroke during the event.
Criticism of the DMK Government
Sathyan accused the government of incompetence, stating, “When you have an incompetent person as your chief minister, his counsel of ministers will also be incompetent.” He highlighted the lack of basic amenities, such as water and medical assistance, and poor traffic management, which led to chaos and distress among attendees.

BJP state president K Annamalai also expressed shock, blaming the DMK government for the lack of safety measures. He noted that five people died and over 200 were injured due to inadequate facilities and transport arrangements.
The Air Show Event
The Indian Air Force organized the Air Show at Chennai’s Marina Beach ahead of the 92nd Air Force Day. The event featured fighter aircraft Sukhoi Su-30MKI and Sarang helicopter, with Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin and other dignitaries in attendance. Despite the impressive display, the hot weather posed challenges for the audience, including many children.
