Ahmedabad Police’s New AI-Powered Command Centre to Boost City Safety
Ahmedabad, Gujarat – The Ahmedabad Police has launched a state-of-the-art Command and Control Centre to enhance public safety using advanced technologies. This new facility will significantly improve police operations and efficiency.
High-Tech Features
Each officer in the centre will have three monitors, allowing them to observe three different locations at once. This setup will help in better monitoring and quicker response times.
Artificial Intelligence Integration
One of the standout features of the new centre is the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI). The AI system will help police monitor social media to identify suspects quickly and keep an eye on suspicious activities. For instance, if a criminal escapes in a vehicle, AI video analytics can help identify the vehicle’s number even if the license plate is not clearly visible. Additionally, the AI can assist in tracking down wanted criminals spotted in the city.
Police Commissioner GS Malik stated, “We have established a very modern control room in our new office. The AI system will make our work more efficient and effective.”
Capacity and Efficiency
The control room can accommodate around 1,000 officers simultaneously, making CCTV monitoring more efficient and allowing for close observation of criminal activities during investigations. The AI Development Program installed will further ease the officers’ tasks.
Inauguration
The high-tech Command and Control Centre will be inaugurated by Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel on October 3. Once operational, it will greatly enhance city security and police capabilities.
