Advay Misra, an 11-year-old student from New Delhi, participated in the International Academic Championship and won the Science and Academic Bee Competitions. He was also the runner-up in the Geography Bee Competition. The event took place from June 14 to June 16 and included over 300 students from 30 cities across 14 countries.

Advay has been the Asian Science Bee Champion for three consecutive years and this was his second consecutive win in the Academic Bee Championship. Last year, he won all four Bees (Academic, Science, Geography, and History) in the National Academic Competition.

Before his achievements in the Asian Championships, Advay was the Runner-up in the National Science Bee Championship of the US for the year 2020-21. The Bees are intense competitions that test contestants’ knowledge through buzzer-based questions, written qualifiers, regional finals, and multiple rounds of championships.

Advay attributes his success to his extensive reading habits and the guidance from his parents. At the age of 8, he was named one of the brightest kids in the world by Johns Hopkins University and is a member of their Center for Talented Youth (CTY). He has won numerous academic accolades and enjoys math, programming, quizzing, and reading. His project ‘Moodmeter’ was recognized by the New York City Department of Education as one of the best school projects during the pandemic. Advay is currently an 8th grader at Sanskriti School in New Delhi.
