Aditya Chautala to Contest from Dabwali in Haryana Elections
The Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) has announced its third list of candidates for the upcoming Haryana Assembly elections. Aditya Chautala, who recently moved from the BJP to INLD, will be contesting from Dabwali. He is the grandson of former Haryana Chief Minister Devi Lal.
Other candidates in the third list include:
- Sunaina Chautala from Fatehabad
- Kunal Karan Singh from Tohana
- Surender Lathar from Julana
- Parkash Bharti from Mulana (SC)
- Daya Bhadana from Punhana
INLD is contesting the elections in alliance with the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP). The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) also released its sixth list of 19 candidates, having declared candidates for 89 out of 90 seats so far. Talks of seat-sharing between AAP and Congress did not materialize.
The last date for filing nominations is September 12. Voting for the 90-member legislative assembly in Haryana will take place on October 5, with votes counted on October 8.
In the 2019 elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) emerged as the largest party with 40 seats, forming the government in alliance with the Jannayak Janta Party (JJP). However, the alliance broke earlier this year, and BJP formed the government with smaller parties. Manohar Lal Khattar, who served as Chief Minister for nine and a half years, resigned in June, and Nayab Singh Saini took over. Khattar is now serving as Union Minister of Urban and Housing Affairs.
