Bridgetown, Barbados – June 24: England’s spinner Adil Rashid has matched the legendary pacer Stuart Broad to become the joint-highest wicket-taker for England in ICC T20 World Cup history. Rashid achieved this milestone during England’s Super Eights match against the USA in Barbados.

In the game, Rashid bowled four overs, taking two wickets for just 13 runs with an impressive economy rate of 3.20. He dismissed key players Nitish Kumar and USA captain Aaron Jones. So far in this tournament, Rashid has taken nine wickets in seven matches, with an average of 17.88 and an economy rate of 6.70. His best bowling figures in this edition are 4/11.

Rashid’s T20 World Cup career began in 2009, and he has taken 30 wickets in 29 matches, with his best figures being 4/2. Stuart Broad, who played in T20 World Cups from 2007 to 2014, also has 30 wickets in 26 matches, with an average of 22.36 and an economy rate of 7.72. His best figures are 3/17.

Other notable England bowlers in T20 World Cup history include Chris Jordan with 28 wickets, spinner Graeme Swann with 22 wickets, and all-rounder Sam Curran. The overall leading wicket-taker in T20 World Cup history is Bangladesh’s Shakib al Hasan, with 50 wickets in 42 games.

In the match against the USA, England won the toss and chose to bowl first. The USA was bowled out for 115 runs in 18.5 overs, with notable contributions from Nitish Kumar, Corey Anderson, and Harmeet Singh. Chris Jordan was the standout bowler for England, taking four wickets for 10 runs, including a hat-trick. Rashid and Curran also bowled well, taking two wickets each.
