ADG Ravi Gandhi Visits Meghalaya to Review Border Security
Ravi Gandhi, the Additional Director General of BSF (Eastern Command) from Kolkata, visited the BSF Frontier in Meghalaya to review and assess various operational and administrative issues along the Indo-Bangladesh border.
Visit to East Khasi Hills
On August 3, ADG Gandhi visited the East Khasi Hills bordering areas to evaluate operational and technical challenges. He praised the BSF for managing the border professionally despite area-specific issues and the state’s seven-month monsoon season.
Meeting in Garo Hills
On August 4, ADG Gandhi chaired a joint meeting with civil administration and police officers of Garo Hills Districts, including DIG Police, DC, and SP Tura, along with BSF officers. They discussed increasing mutual trust and synergy between BSF and Police.
Surveillance and Security
ADG Gandhi inspected the electronic surveillance grid and stressed the importance of installing the latest surveillance equipment for effective border management. He reviewed issues related to illegal activities, infiltration, and smuggling.

He emphasized that the people of Meghalaya are peace-loving and supportive of security forces, rejecting infiltrators who burden the economy. He provided clear directions to stop infiltration and praised the efforts of BSF personnel in maintaining border security despite adverse conditions.
