Abu Dhabi’s New Rules for Trading Petroleum Products Explained by Saif Saeed Al Qubaisi
The Petroleum Products Trading Regulatory Committee in Abu Dhabi is working hard to make sure that trading petroleum products is safe and secure. Saif Saeed Al Qubaisi, who is the Acting Director General of Regulatory Affairs at the Department of Energy, said that the Committee helps everyone follow the rules set by the government.
The Committee looks at all the issues related to trading petroleum products like hydrocarbon gas and other petroleum derivatives, except crude oil. They also suggest new programs and projects to make trading better.
There are four groups under the Committee that focus on different tasks: permits, inspection and enforcement, legislation and legal affairs, and data and information technology. These groups help make sure everyone is following the rules.
The Committee also checks reports on how well the trading is going and makes recommendations. They look at things like trading permits, compliance rates, and any violations or fines.
Al Qubaisi mentioned that the Committee will start a new platform to help companies and clients in the petroleum sector talk to each other and share their technical knowledge. The Department of Energy will set up the rules and procedures for this platform.
