Abu Dhabi to Host 25th IUHPE World Conference on Health Promotion in 2025
Abu Dhabi Public Health Centre (ADPHC) has announced that Abu Dhabi will host the 25th International Union for Health Promotion and Education (IUHPE) World Conference. This event will take place from May 13-16, 2025, marking the first time it will be held in the Middle East.
The conference will gather experts, policymakers, healthcare practitioners, and educators from around the world to discuss global health challenges and opportunities for health promotion and education. Dr. Ahmed AlKhazraji, Acting Director-General of ADPHC, expressed pride in hosting the event, emphasizing its importance for international collaboration and sustainable health development.
Dr. AlKhazraji stated, “Abu Dhabi’s selection as the host for this event reflects the Emirate’s commitment to excellence in health and its contribution to enhancing global health systems.” He added that the conference will encourage participation from local and global health stakeholders to propose solutions for building better health promotion systems.
Sione Tu’itahi, IUHPE President, highlighted the collaboration with ADPHC and other partners like the World Health Organisation to address global health challenges. The conference aims to improve global health through education, community engagement, and public health policy development.
The previous IUHPE World Conference was held online in May 2022, focusing on health policies, well-being, and equity amid the COVID-19 pandemic and other global issues. Key speakers included Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, Director-General of the World Health Organisation, and other renowned experts.
