In Balochistan, the Baloch National Movement has reported the tragic deaths of Abdul Haq and Liaqat, who were allegedly targeted by the Pakistan Army in Mashkai. Abdul Haq’s family, known for their unwavering support of the movement, faced severe hardships but remained loyal. Abdul Haq, from a shepherd family in Mashkai Hills, was part of a community that has endured ongoing violence.
On January 21, 2016, Abdul Wahid and Dilshad were killed in Manju Mashkai, with their homes looted and destroyed. The families relocated to Mashkay Parwar, but the violence persisted. On June 14, 2018, Mubarak and Mohabbate Khan were killed, and Noor-ul-Haq was injured. More recently, on June 30, 2023, Muhammad Isa was killed, and his son Sameer was injured in Joongu Mashkai.
Abdul Haq had made a video highlighting the persecution, which was later shared by Zrumbesh News. Despite the ongoing violence, the loyalty of the people to their freedom struggle remains strong. Balochistan continues to face challenges like enforced disappearances and struggles for local resource rights, with the Pakistani army using violent means to suppress the movement.
