AAP’s Sanjay Singh Announces Protest Against Central Government Over Misuse of Agencies

The opposition INDIA bloc, including Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MP Sanjay Singh, will hold a demonstration inside Parliament premises on Monday, July 1. The protest is against the central government over the alleged misuse of central agencies like the Directorate of Enforcement (ED) and Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).

Announcement of Protest

In a press conference held on Sunday, Sanjay Singh announced the decision of the alliance parties to protest. He stated, “The parties of the INDIA bloc had unanimously decided that we will protest against the misuse of ED and CBI in the Parliament premises tomorrow at 10.30 am.”

Allegations Against Central Government

Sanjay Singh alleged that the central government directed the arrest of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. He claimed that the ED has no evidence against Kejriwal in the excise policy case. “The court (Rouse Avenue Court) said in its order that ED has no evidence against Arvind Kejriwal and that it is working with malicious intent. ED has no money trail against Arvind Kejriwal, no evidence, no recovery of money and hence Arvind Kejriwal is innocent,” Singh said.

Legal Proceedings

Singh further alleged that the “ED people” reached the High Court in an unconstitutional manner and got a stay on the bail without taking a copy of the order. He added, “Arvind Kejriwal was arrested by the CBI on the instructions of the Central Government, PM Modi.”

On July 29, the Delhi Court sent CM Kejriwal to judicial custody until July 12 in connection with the ongoing probe into the excise policy case. Advocate DP Singh, representing the CBI, stated that Kejriwal did not cooperate with the investigation and gave evasive replies.

Previous Protests

The AAP staged a protest on June 29 against the court’s order in front of the BJP office in Delhi, which saw the participation of several AAP leaders and legislators. Kejriwal was arrested by the ED on March 21 this year.
