AAP MP Swati Maliwal Meets Families of Deceased Civil Aspirants at RML Hospital

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MP Swati Maliwal visited the families of two civil servant aspirants who died in a tragic incident at a coaching institute in Delhi. The incident occurred when the basement of the institute in Old Rajender Nagar flooded, leading to the deaths of three UPSC aspirants.

Maliwal met the families at Ram Manohar Lohia (RML) Hospital and voiced their demand for strict action against those responsible. She promised to raise the issue in Parliament until justice is served. On her social media handle, Maliwal shared that one of the victims was a 25-year-old daughter of a farmer from Uttar Pradesh, and the other was a 21-year-old from Telangana. Both families are in a state of distress and demand harsh punishment for the culprits.

Maliwal criticized the Delhi government officials for not meeting the families and called for the minister and mayor to apologize and provide compensation of Rs 1 crore. She expressed outrage over the delay in action against the responsible officials and termed the deaths as ‘murder’ instead of a disaster.

She also highlighted corruption in the operation of illegal basements in the city, questioning how such basements could operate without bribes and lack of safety measures. The incident comes days after another UPSC aspirant was electrocuted on a waterlogged street in Delhi.

Meanwhile, Delhi police have arrested the owner and coordinator of the coaching center. The victims were identified as Shreya Yadav from Uttar Pradesh, Tanya Soni from Telangana, and Nivin Dalwin from Kerala.
